Richard McGinnis Collection, 1955-1958.

The collection consists of photographs, most of which were taken while the McGinnis family lived in Flavet 3, a unit of housing constructed for married veterans returning to the University of Florida after World War II. The photos are of their family and their friends who also lived in Flavet 3. There also is a copy of the 1956 Flavet 3 Yearbook dated January 1957. McGinnis had been the editor of that yearbook, and both he and his wife Shirley and other veterans had worked on editorial and photographic content, as well as advertising. There is a copy of the Fall 2006 magazine, UF Today which includes an article about Richard McGinnis (the "Vet"), a newspaper clipping (1951) with information about his job as information specialist in the Far East Air Force Command, and a Certificate of Service from the (Flavet) Village Government.
